Are you ready to take your festival style to the next level? Your outfit might be on point, but your hair can truly set you apart from the crowd.

Whether you're dancing in the desert at Coachella or chilling at a music fest with friends, these five festival hair ideas will have you looking fabulous from day to night.

Festival Hair Up Ideas

Hair up styles offer style and practicality, which makes them a no-brainer for festival season. From cool updos to half-up, half-down styles that’ll be perfect for second (or third...) day hair.

Messy Bun with Hair Accessories

If your hair is feeling less than fresh after a few days of camping, then this is an easy festival hair idea that’ll hide a multitude of sins.

Simply spritz some of your favourite dry shampoo onto your roots, along with some texture spray and pull your hair into a high pony. Next, wrap your hair around the base of your ponytail and secure with another bobble and bobby pins.

Finally, add some fun hair accessories like colourful scrunchies, butterfly clips or bohemian headbands to instantly elevate your look.

Bubble Braid

Bubble braids have taken over the internet over the past year - and for good reason! It’s one of our favourite festival hair ideas for long hair.

To achieve this look, start by tying your hair into a high ponytail with a hair tie. Then, place additional bands down the length of the ponytail, evenly spacing them apart.

Finish by fluffing out each section to make the ‘bubbles’ more prominent and add a spritz of hair spray.

Half-Up Space Buns

Spice up your hairstyle with playful half-up space buns. To do this, part your hair down the middle, twist each section into a bun, and secure with elastic bands.

This fun and quirky style will keep your hair out of your face whilst you dance the night away.

Festival Hair Hack: If you want to take your look to the next level then apply some glitter adhesive along your parting and add a little sparkle.

Tousled Low Pigtails

For a quick and easy festival hairstyle, opt for some tousled low pigtails.

Start by tracing your finger, or comb, down the centre of the head and all the way down to the nape of the neck. Once a straight, middle parting has been created, the hair should be split into two equal sections.

Secure both sections with a hair tie to form two log pigtails. Then, take a fine-tooth comb and backcomb the hairs to form  a volumised, tousled look.

We love to finish with a few spritz’ of salt spray to elevate the beachy vibe.

This effortless style is perfect for when you're short on time but still want to try something different to your usual 9-5 ponytail.

Festival Hair Down Ideas

Loose hair styles can add to that boho, free-spirited edge that festivals are so synonymous with. Here are two of our favourite looks for you to try:

Beachy Waves

Embrace those carefree beach vibes with loose, effortless waves.

Leave your hair in braids, or a heatless curler, overnight to achieve natural-looking, relaxed curls. Finish off the look with a spritz of sea salt spray for that perfectly-tousled finish.

Mini Braids

This look is one of our favourite quick and easy hairstyles beginners. Whether you’ve got super long locks or you’re searching for festival hair ideas for short hair – this style will work for anyone.

Simply take two front pieces of your hair either side of your parting and braid them.

Once secured with elastics, you can add butterfly clips down the length of the braid to add a fun, playful touch. Alternatively, if you want to add a bit of an edge to the look, swap the butterfly clips for hair rings for a grunge-chic vibe.

When it comes to the rest of your hair, you can choose to style this straight, wavy or curly, depending on personal preference.
