Inspired by the tropical island of Bali, Annie Haak Designs are all about making you look and feel fabulous. It’s a motto that we certainly agree with at Beauty Expert, and with the month of June being all about treating yourself, we wanted to hear more from the wonderful lady behind the brand. Our collaboration with Annie Haak Designs took part back in February as part our #BEloved campaign. This month, we wanted to celebrate the month of treats by hearing more from Annie Haak. We wanted to find out her motivation behind the brand, her favourite ways to relax, and her thoughts on female empowerment. Here’s what we found out:
Q. What motivated you to start your own business?
As an individual, I've always been very creative before venturing down the path of jewellery. The Annie Haak brand was born after my husband had a freak motorbike accident in Bali. This is still where I get lots of inspiration from, from the magical people, to the colours and patterns found in the local markets and villages.
Q. What was your vision when founding Annie Haak?
To create fabulous jewellery that not only looks great but makes you feel fabulous.
Q. Who is your inspiration or role model?
Annie Lennox, Anung San Suu Kyi and Eckhart Tolle.
Q. What do you think is the key ingredient of female empowerment?
Being strong, positive, and focused on your goals.
Q. We're big believers in balancing yourself, especially when it comes to relaxing. What is your favourite way to relax?
Walking and meditation are two of my favourite ways to relax. My philosophy has always been a healthy one - to let go of the negative energy and practice choosing the positive things.
Q. Talk us through your beauty routine…
Goodness me!! Not sure I have one, good old soap and water, followed always with Damask Rose Frankincense face oil. Oooh and I always try to drink plenty of water and get as much sleep as I can!
Q. What is your number one beauty secret?
Cold pressed coconut oil! I get this from Bali when I am over there designing.
Q. If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?
To follow your dreams, to believe in your gut feelings, to not to get stressed, to feel grateful everyday, and to try and be kind to all around. This is supposed to reduce the wrinkles!!!
